Parenting Programs for Teenagers

12 – 18 years (teens): Parenting programs

As your child develops into their teenager years, most parents initially link their child’s behaviours to hormones as they begin their journey to adulthood. This is the stage of parenting when your now teenager needs you the most.

During this time, we need to move from a custodian role to a consultancy position. We must allow our teen to make mistakes, with you by their side to help pick up the pieces in a safe and supportive environment. As a parent, we should give our teens freedom to find themselves, but still have rules, boundaries, and consequences in place.

Parenting Ways is trained is programs that can help you with all areas of parenting to help you on your teenager parenting journey. Our teenager parenting programs provide reliable, research-based strategies and techniques to raise children and deal with the many challenges.

Deb Woods, the founder of Parenting Ways, is an experienced and accredited facilitator who will help you find the solutions that work best for your family or classroom.

Parenting Ways offers a variety of excellent programs, many of which are not available anywhere else in the South West.

Why parents and carers love Parenting Ways

Some identities withheld to protect privacy

“One of my clients,  *********, recently attending one of your Tuning into Teens courses. I’ve had rave reviews from both ********, and her support worker. They mentioned there might be an adaptation of the course that would be condensed down to put support workers through if they support teens or adults with teen children. Is this something you’ve done before or would be open to doing?”

Keeping Kids in Mind

“When I started this course I had been going through separation on and off for 3 years. It had been an extremely toxic relationship all round. Over the period of time from doing this I learnt so much that I don’t even know where to start. Firstly and most importantly I learnt how our toxic behaviours came across to the children. I considered myself to be pretty aware of how I acted around the kids about my former partner and don’t consider myself to be a bad case as far as how I previously acted. But after doing keeping kids in mind I realised how aware they actually are. The biggest part of it for me was controlling my side of the bridge and the level of importance. Those two tools have made my life so much easier to deal with separation and I’m enjoying sharing what I have learnt with friends that are going through separation even the ones without kids. I can’t thank all the trainers enough for their level of care throughout the course. And though I’m not the best with words usually I would just like to say this course had genuinely changed my perspective towards soo many aspects of my life not just my separation but also how I go into future relationships.

Thank you”
